Protect Our Parks

  • After federal workforce cuts left 1,000 fewer employees caring for national parks and forests, public lands were more vulnerable than ever. As a Colorado agency, we felt a responsibility to act — without a client, budget, or media dollars. The challenge: raise awareness and inspire action, fast.

  • Coloradans love their parks — and they love their beer. By linking the two, we could create an approachable entry point for advocacy. Rather than leading with outrage or partisanship, we leaned into community, craft culture, and everyday rituals that make Colorado unique.

  • We launched Protect Our Parks with a grassroots activation called Pints for Parks. Partnering with breweries across Colorado, we distributed coasters with QR codes to contact representatives, plus pre-stamped postcards, posters, and stickers — making it as easy to support public lands as ordering another pint.

    • Produced and distributed on a budget under $2K: 2,500 coasters, 1,500 stickers, 400 pre-stamped postcards, 30 posters across local breweries

    • Generated hundreds of direct constituent messages to Congress with zero paid media

    • Proved that a scrappy, self-funded idea can mobilize communities and open doors for larger advocacy efforts
